Template sections preview
Company name, logo, and contact details
Your company name, registered address, phone, email, and logo at the top. Include your VAT number if VAT-registered and trade accreditations such as NICEIC, NAPIT, Gas Safe, or WaterSafe where relevant.
Customer name and address
Full name, billing address, and site address (if different). Always confirm in writing who the quote is addressed to — useful for disputes.
Detailed description of works
List every item of work clearly. Vague descriptions cause disputes — be specific about scope, access assumptions, exclusions, and any making-good required.
Materials list with unit costs
Itemise materials with quantity, unit cost, and line total. Standard practice is to add a 15–25% handling margin on top of trade prices.
Subtotal, VAT (20%), and total
Show subtotal, VAT at 20%, and grand total clearly. If the customer is not VAT-registered, note this. Quote validity: 30 days is standard.
